2005 XJ8 VDP - Is it Bluetooth capable?
I am not an expert and hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong...
Bluetooth was an option for the 2005 VDP. It requires three pieces of hardware, one in the trunk, one under the center console and a microphone in the overhead. I think the trunk piece is behind the panel on the left side.
So, if it was purchased as an option on the car...then you have it, otherwise, no dice. Someone is selling everything you would need in the classifieds.

If you press the "phone" button and it says "phone not fitted", you don't have the PSE module in the trunk. You can get a PSE for about $250 (ebay) or $600 at the dealer. You will also need bluetooth antena and a microphone - additional $150-ish, new optical cable in the trunk ($??) and voice control passtrough ($30).
Overall way too expensive, you can get almost the same effect with a Jabra blueooth module mounted on the sun visor for less than $100.

Mine has the bluetooth option...but it only works with a telephone. Can't pair your iPad or anything else like that to play music. To play music from your device you will need toget the ACM module, which is expensive, and not worth the hassle to install. Plus, the dealership will not warranty the work because at times the ACm module will interfere with other electronics in the car. In the end, I just started burning an assload of MP3 cd's and learned to live with that.
May be a little thread jacking here, please excuse
The electronic interference from the ACM module; would this cause a cell phone to have interference on the passenger side and not the driver side of the car. I have an 05 VDP that the wife complains of interference when riding, but not when driving.
oh; and where would this module be located ? Can I just "pull a fuse" ?

MyTurn,
The interference on the passenger side is caused by the ultrasonic air bag sensors that are installed to see how the passenger is sitting. You see them in the roof and A pillar on the passenger side. Common complaint.
