Default 2005 XJ8L air suspension problems

We were told by the dealer we need a compressor and both front air shocks, for a total of over $3600.00 installed. And this is for aftermarket shocks. Does anyone have any suggestions for a company that sells good aftermarket parts. I am wanting to provide the parts and have my mechanic install them saving as much as I can, but still getting a quality job. Thanks, Kevin

Kevin,

I've moved this from Intro to X350 forum to get advice from members with the same model.

Try Arnott Industries if you want to stick with air suspension parts. You might also consider the coilover conversion, available from both Arnott and Strutmasters. Or you could take your chances and get used ones off of ebay or from a junkyard.

I would do a search for "struts" in here - you'll find many, many threads on the topic and other peoples' experiences for all of these scenarios. The air suspension issues are fairly common as these cars get up in the years, and as the weather gets colder.
