Thanks about my comment. The files look like documents so I thought I was not getting the proper format. ;p

I dl'd part 4 yesterday, after 3 days Im only up to part 10.

If anyone knows a better ftp or server to upload these Ill take the plunge time wise and try to rehost it. I just dont know where to thats free without these 130 seconds to dl wait time, and 15minutes inbetween files. LMK

you arent supposed to pay to steal stuff ! lols

well Im finished up 16 right now with 17 already downloaded. so I have 15 more minutes and Im done. Ill allocate the $30 to experimenting with which dl dvd disc will work properly.

But Im going to ask around on other forums for a free nonrestricted host, then upload to save anyone else this mini headache

and and I dont think anyone who successfully did this mentioned which cd worked ? only the ones that didnt.

can you guys post which exact cd you used ? we already have clarification on which burning software to use.

Then I say we put this in a secret sticky !

When I downloaded the files from rapid share, I paid $8.80 for the faster service and was able to download all 17 files in just a little over and hour. I tried using a memorex dual layer DVD but my nav system said no map data. The successful disc I made was done using a Verbatem DL-DVD. I used Roxy Basic DVD creator to burn the disc. The disc needs to be burned as an image file. Hopefully this info is helpful. Good luck to all.

Is the 1st file different than the rest? Is was for me - not 200mb but a series of variosu files.

I have a mac - what do you do with disk utility to make the disc?

OK now, how much do you want to make a good working copy for my 04 XJ?

I can't, for the life of me, begin to do this myself, but would like to have the new version with the Jaguar clock.

Thanks, in advance, if you're interested.

Seems to eb a lot of headache for the US map
The Western Euripean one is nearly 8.5Gb and I havent used the expensive Verbatim DVD +R DL discs.Used to be able to back up the discs no problem using 2 DVD DL burners but for one reason or another this has stopped working on my PC.Have had to burn my 2010 Nav Disc to the PC as an IMG.This also creates an MDS file when there is more than 4.7Gb of data. Then using the free Imageburn software it can be put back onto another DL disc and the MDS file puts the PAGE LAYER BREAK in EXACTLY the correct place to make the discs readable.

All,

here is part #4, make sure you unzip it before you unrar it. If you dont know what .rar is, use winrar

also, the brand of DVD does not matter, but it has to be DVD-DL (dual layer). Also, you must burn the DVD as a DVD-ROM book type. if you do not use a DVD-DL, or you do not use DVD-ROM book type, the dvd will not work.

good luck. lets see how long this new file stays out there before Jaguar or NAVTEQ tells rapidshare to pull the file.

Sixpackd

Thanks for re-posting part 4, but there is nothing there! I went to RapidShare and the link for part 4 still says that it is copywritten information and automatically takes me to some other site. Could you re-post the link to part 4 please? It is the last part I need to update my nav!!

Thanks!
