Default 2006 Super V8 Misfiring ...

Engine can't take take any load and shakes allot and scan codes are: PO 304 and 316... Where is cylinder 4, and is it most likely the Ignition coil? Oh, and if so, is it easy to replace? I did find that Autozone has a, ACCEL Ignition Coil 140032, in stock... Is this a good brand to buy? Car was riding really well before this happened.

Hi @Aleather ,

Really sorry to hear about your troubles with your lovely Jag. The two codes you have indicate a misfire with the #4 cylinder and that your cam or crank sensors are out of range. The first thing I would do is swap your #4 coil with either #6 or cross banks over and swap with #5 or #3. Then check to see if the DTC for the misfire follows the coil from #4 to its new location. If so, then invest in a new coil and see if it resolves itself, if not then there is likely a problem elsewhere, which we can further help to diagnose. Fingers crossed it is simply a bad coil!

Standing in front of the car cylinder 4 is the second cylinder on the right (bank 2) 2,4,6,8 - Then on the left (bank 1) 1,3,5,7. Take Jacuar's advice and swap a coil and see if the error moves to that cylinder. If it does then buy and change the coil. It could also be a spark plug. Original coils are Denso's. Rockauto has them for $31.79

As FreeWifi says…. The attached (and handy) model summary includes a picture of the cylinder numbering around page 78.

Fixed!!! It was the ignition coil... I bought two of them at rockauto with two spark plugs; The second one I will keep in my trunk, in case, this happens again and I'm on the road.

One more Super V8, back on the road... Thanks for you guys help!!!!
