Very nice article. I am looking forward to seeing the new XJ up close when it arrives in the States. Let's see. My 06 Super V8 has about 35,000 miles on it. Got it with 20k as a lease return at around 50% of new. New XJ comes out in about 10 months give or take. Two years after that, my SV8 will have about 85 or 90k miles. Mmmmmm. Just perfect. Lease return 2011 XJ as described in the article with 20-25 k miles at about half price. Yup. Just perfect. Oh drat, then I'll have to post pictures to keep Jim happy. Worth though.

I'm with strateloss on the rear, it looks great.
And the interior so far looks incredible.
My issue is the front end styling.
Wouldn't mind seeing this same body style with more traditional XJ headlamps, hoodlines, and a leaper come 2015/2016.

The new XJ is going to rock the luxury segment and make the Axis cars run for cover. Only the Maserati has the elegance of the Jag and that is not a car for everyone. Even the Lexus buyers will be on notice once the Jag hits the showroom.

I like the side view and the front view. The rear view reminds me of a combination of a Bentley Continental and a Daewoo Lagonza!! Not sure how I feel about the Dolly Parton air vents!!!!

I do like the rear but I'm not too sure about the front. I think the concept front should have been used. I agree with hlgeorge on the vents except I was thinking frog eyes. If I was thinking Dolly Parton maybe they wouldn't look so bad. I'm seeing a lot of cars do away with big dash and put a pod in front of you though, which I'm not to big on. On the Jag website's configurature, you can option a leaper for the hood. I don't know how that would look on this body though. The electronics are the best I've seen on any car. It's amazing how much horsepower cars are coming out with thse days. The base model will have as much HP as the current Super V8.

I have the 2011 XJ brochure sitting here on my desk, I think I like the look of the car but will wait until I see it in person to make a final decision on the appearance. The round vents remind me too much of the Pontiac Grand Prix rental cars that I seemed to get every week last year. Also want to see some of the interior colors in person as some of them look a little funky in photos.
