Default Abs / fault

Abs/ D.Sc. warning on my 03 x350 litre petrol.
Ran sdd and codes for left hand abs sensor faulty or left hand reluctor ring damaged. I replaced the sensor and could see no damage at all to reluctor ring so I cleaned it and the warnings still come up.
Anyone who has experienced similar problem ?
Would welcome any thoughts.
Many thanks

I have never had this problem on the Jag but have replaced a sensor

on a Saab in the past.

The gap between the end of the sensor and the reluctor ring is important

but I am fairly sure that the sensor can only go into one position when

screwed in.

AFIK the sensor is just a coil and you should be able to check for continuity and

resistance. How does the old and new sensor compare?

Not sure if there is a separate code for sensor wiring but this is the next thing

to check IMO.

Agree with above. I had a similar problem and replaced both reluctor rings as they had swollen due to rusty hubs and one had rubbed on the sensor. Changed the sensor and the fault came back. My next port of call was to check the wiring, I believe there's a point where it sometimes rubs on the sub frame. I couldn't find a problem but annoyingly the fault cleared and didn't come back (yet). Looks like a crawl underneath might be worthwhile.
Good luck
