I have read my self to death on how to add the T605 (Jim Roal guide) onto the X308. However it seems that nothing really exists for the X350. I get why because of the difference in wiring, but believe I have a way to make it work reasonably by using the "CD changer hack". After going through the wiring diagrams, I think I have it all figured out, but wanted to run it by those with way more experience than I.
I imagine it working like follows:
Phone rings,
press CD changer button,
then hit Answer on phone or UID.
All audio will be played on all speakers.
Audio (Pandora, etc) streaming also by pressing the CD changer button.
Thoughts?
edit: I will NOT connect the yellow mute wire in this scenario.
Thanks all for the input, after posting I did more research and determined the Ai-net is way different than D2B. I was hoping for a single box solution. I like the idea of the box offered, but want the best of both worlds, so looks like it would be 2 solutions.
I thought the pairing on the jag BT was iffy and that it won't necessarily work with new phones?
I do not have Voice or Phone modules, so can someone direct me to the right PN's to add? I see a bunch of them on ebay, but not sure which box/boxes I need. I also believe programming would need to be done via ids as well?
Goals:
Streaming music
phone through stock system
ability to push "voice" on steering wheel to dial.

Jag system is perfectly fine and is the best (only?) way to get proper phone integration and ability to dial from your steering wheel button.
For bluetooth audio streaming Venelin's bluetooth box already linked to in a previous post is probably your best bet (unless you want to do a full Android conversion on your head unit which is quite a bit more involved).

Thats the module I installed but for a heck of a lot less! I bought fiber optic cable and a microphone as well as an antennae separately on Ebay.
Someone wanted a picture. What you are looking at is the rack unscrewed and up ended so you can see the back.
On the bottom is the Bluetooth module, next one up VACM( Voice Activated Control Module), next two are NAV and CD changer.
All power connections were already there, just taped flat against the harness.
I was wired for ICE ( In Car Entertainment) and that was simply looped with a short fiber optic cable. All the fiber optic cables were marked with yellow tags.
Another thread to look at: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...nstall-173739/
Also with VACM you can use voice to dial stored phone book numbers.
For the phone integration the thread I linked has quite detailed instructions, you would need this module: 7W93-10D893-AB - the sufix 'AB' does not really matted any other letter combo would work, but the first numbers are important. You can find one on eBay for < $200
You may or may not need to rework the optical cables - some cars have a "spare" connector in the trunk.
The other pieces you would need: a microphone, a Bluetooth antenna and a "passtrough" cable for the VACM plug (if you don't have and are not installing a VACM module). Again the thread I linked has all the details and pics.
IMO the VACM module is a gimmick. Sure add one if you want, but it's not going to make a life and day difference.
This would get you setup for phone calls - the module works quite well. I have had no issues with it (I have an older version).
For music, there are many options: cheap FM modulators, ACM, Read connectivity module and my box.

Thanks all for pointing me in the right direction the "upgrade Bluetooth" thread really helped. I had tried to narrow my focus to this specific forum to eliminate mis-information and missed that one. I think I had info overload while trying to piece this all out!
Solution was to buy the following for PHONE integration only:
1. 7W93-10D893-AB for Bluetooth/Phone (just bought on ebay for $110)
2. electret microphone from online retailer (unless I find a tan OEM one) Several part numbers (C2C29785XXX) I believe there are many more PN's that might work, since it is a common microphone. I will see if I can take the one out of my Denali that connects to OnStar and see if it works.
3. Bluetooth antenna (BMW 1 Series X5 Bluetooth antenna / FAKRA / Z-Bluetooth antenna)
4. OPTIC maybe. Will find out when I tear into the trunk stack.
5. VACM bypass hack as mentioned in the linked thread above.
and then down the road for STREAMING MUSIC:
Veffremov Bluetooth Kit
or
FM Modulator
or
???? another hack potentially!
The android integration that Ben did was awesome, but not something I want to tackle at this point even though I have experience with Arduino/RPi in my brewing setups it is intense!
I will do a write up once complete.

I use it frequently to control the CDs I am listening to. I also use it to control navigation as well as almost everything else linked to the D2B loop.

There are several write ups already but one more won't hurt. The third "hack" as you call it is Jaguar's OEM solution which is to instal the Audio Control Module or ACM as it's commonly referred to. It basically lets you connect your iPod or as USB drive to play music. If you have a large music collection, this is a hard wired solution and hard wired always has better sound. That said, if you want to stream via bluetooth the Veffremov kit gets very high reviews.

Agree with you Jack that VACM is not gimmicky. I think it's an adoption thing. There are older options to controlling CD's, phone and the like and then there is the systems actual ability to understand the damn commands.
My wife's MB S430 understood about half the voice commands. I hated it and only used it to make phone calls.
Her Cadillac SRX works but you have to really raise your voice, so I only use it for phone calls and all the other controls are on the steering wheel so I use them by feel.
My SV8 was the sweet spot. Worked for CD's, phone calls and radio stations so I never had to take my eyes off the road.
I installed the T-605 in my x308. It worked ok for the phone, but thats all it did. It had the option of plugging in an Ipod, but I never did as the plug and play t-605 only played sound thru the front speakers. Good for phone, but thats it! Now you and I have a car that has a system that works well.
I use the Jag phone system, and a Ven box for my music. I'm in heaven. Still on the fence about installing "voice".

To each it's own. To me pressing the CD button on the screen is easier. I was never able to input an address in the nav with the thing.

The last 3 letters from the part number are the trim color code.
I like the idea of VACM, but not having luck finding a used US version, all the ones are from the UK ending with BC or BD. I had read it might work, and you might be able to reflash the "region" but didn't find anyone that said they have yet. Will keep my eyes out though. PN 2R8F-14B292-XX (XX = country code)
I had forgotten to add the ACM to the list for stereo! Keeping an eye out for that also. PN C2C40513
*adding part numbers to help myself remember and for future people
What is the cheapest high quality solution to stream BT music and control it via factory buttons? I guess it is swapping transport in cd or cd-changer by Arduino like pc, right?
