Advice re: '04 XJ8 with Max Speeding Rods spring and shock conversion.
Hi everyone! My first post of what I hope will be many. I'm an Aussie Jag enthusiast and while my daily driver is a german taxi, I'm looking at buying my first Jag. My priority is comfort (the other car can rattle my bones if needed).
I've found a 2004 3.5 V8 XJ8 which I'm going to testdrive next week but I've discovered that the air suspension has been replaced with coils. I believe this is what they've installed ( https://au.maxpeedingrods.com/produc...JQxUXLLWQRhJ_A )
What are people's thoughts on this? I'm OK not having the air suspension as long as the ride is comfortable.
Thanks

XJ8 has adjustable dampening; basically it changes dampening based on road condition and speed and also suspension does level car. Anyway, about adjustable dampening: there is en electric connection from computer to solenoid inside shock. If there is no provision in the shock, the computer will through error on the message display.
There is a way to fool computer. The resistor network must be plugged into computer harness. There are some that succeeded in fooling computer without resistors, my understanding it was done on certain/earlier edditions of XJ8. Any way, make sure there are no error messages due to aftermarket shocks.
