I am preparing for a car show and am wondering about the exposed air spring wiring that seems to be present on nearly every car I see, whether in person or in pics.
I have owned my wonderful 2008 XJR for 18 months now and am the third owner, buying the car with 52K miles. These wires were exposed at the time of purchase and I have not yet done anything with them:
It would appear that portions of the right side wiring plastic loom have overheated, become brittle, and broken away leaving 3 or 4 inches of bare wiring exposed. The left side loom fitting looks like it has simply come unfastened from its connector. Please forgive me that I have not yet done exhaustive fitment trials to these pieces.
Should the end piece of the plastic loom fit into and lock on the fitting attached to the top of the air spring? Although this situation would seem to be largely cosmetic, it is probably not a good idea to have these relatively small wires exposed. Does anyone have a fix for these issues?
