Default Air suspenaion Pump

2006 SV8 is at a mechanics for radiator install and has the air suspension fault and he just called to say the brass fitting on the air pump is stripped and leaking. I had rebuilt the pump myself with a bagpipenandy kit several years ago but after developing a leaking radiator it sat for half a year and now it will not air up the suspension. He said it was leaking at the fitting so badly that his soapy water was just blown away rather then bubbling

I looked for the WABCO part number 2W93-3B484-AG and found two listed at Parts Geek

Unity for $298 https://www.partsgeek.com/g4yhmdc-ja...id=18313611776

Autoparts Premium for $220 https://www.partsgeek.com/b2f5829-ja...id=18313611776

Anyone know if either or both of these will work? or if there is any source of just the plastic housing that is stripped? Or if there is a better source than Parts Geek? I see used ones on ebay but do not want to chance installing a used one.

Oh man if the plastic part on the pump is worn too much you could help yourself with teflon strip for water hose connection.
otherwise you would to get a new one.
if the olive or the screw is shot order a new one even at Jaguar.
you can get pump from Autodoc Arnott oem Wabco pump... or aerosus or chinese knockoff new pump
or just at a breaker

Thanks for the replies, guys

I checked the Arnott pump at Autodock, but shipping across the pond may be a problem in cost and timing. I was hoping someone had used one of the pumps from Partsgeek before and could comment on fit and function. My front struts are Arnott units that were installed just before I bought it in 2015 but I believe the rear units are original.

I had to move five of my cars off site because of a big house/garage renovation so the SV8 went to a mechanic to finish the radiator install I had begun; if it was here at home I'd probably try some JB Weld plastic bonder on the pump fitting, but I don't expect the mechanic would want to try that - easier and faster to just replace it and probably better in the long run.

Amazon is my friend sometimes, but I had already ordered the Unity compressor from Parts Geek for $299 instead of the $550 unit from Arnott on Amazon. It was interesting that Parts Geek had different part numbers for the same compressor for a VDP and a SV8 and apparently the first 5 characters in their PN 18841-05795198 for my SV8 are car specific and the last 8 are compressor specific. The same compressor for a VDP is listed as PN 17918-05795198.

It took me a couple of hours to place the order due to my B of A Visa rejecting the transaction. I spent over an hour on hold total trying to find out why and got disconnected twice before I finally got to a young lady who said it was not the vendor but the amount that triggered some darn robot to shut down my card. In between Visa calls I tried to have a fellow at Parts Geek place the order over the phone and he must have tried 6 or 8 times to get through the original amount and then $1 charges to see if it would take them. And when the Visa lady finally got it back up and I placed the order with Parts Geek on line, a window popped up that said it qualified for a free shipping rebate and after I filled in the info for the shipping rebate I received an email that I had a $2 charge on the Visa card from some outfit named freeshipping.com so I was apparently scammed by someone who gives PG a kick back or someone who has somehow hacked their web site. Man do I hate the darn scammers - the rats of the internet.

I had TERRIBLE experience with Paypal: paid for goods; scammer used USPS; USPS said shipment was delivered but street address is different from mine.USPS did not disclowe to me what it is. Scammer never return money; Paypal took scammer's side!
If I CAN HELP IT I WILL NEVER USE PALLPALL!
Same thing happened to my neighbour. They can't not to use Paypal: there business based on it.
Never had that problem with any credit card.

I opened the B of A card for internet purchases because it offers a 3% cash back on whatever category you select, in this case internet transactions. I suppose they were trying to protect me from scam charges, but their system flagged a purchase that was intended and at $338 was not that large. Buried a the bottom of a stack of emails from B of A I did eventually find one that asked if I had made the purchase, but I was not checking email when the transaction was denied and I tried to place the order several times. The last young lady I got to on the Visa phone said she made note on my account that I used it for internet purchases and to not deny those purchases in the future. I hope that fixes the problem. I did once have a large charge on another card that was made in a casino off the coast of Hong Kong and I had to convince that card company that I had never been to Hong Kong and I had to cancel that card and get a replacement. Lots of dishonest people sitting at keyboards these days.

Update: I found a "welcome to freeshipping.com" email in my spam folder and was able to go there and have a chat to cancel my "subscription" and get a refund of the $2 charge; They were going to automatically charge my Visa $20 a month if it was not canceled. Maria was friendly on the chat and provided the link to cancel and then confirmed the refund, but the whole thing is very dishonest to make it look like PartsGeek was giving the free shipping option on my purchase. PartsGeek claimed no responsibility but I bet there is a kickback in it for them. Just beware of getting tricked into signing up for any similar scams.
