Default Air Suspension Problems

Help! Jaguar X350 2003 4.2 V8 supercharged. Had a leak in the right rear air shock. I purchased 2 from a German manufacturer who makes all kinds of air suspension parts. The air shocks are fine and easy to fit. The front shocks were replaced about 4 years ago (before I owned car). When the garage lowered the car, after installing everything seemed good. But when the engine started the front shocks lifted at least 60mm and stayed there. The shocks do come down to about half that overnight, but as soon as I open the door (driver’s) the shocks (front) go back up to where they were. Now I can hear hissing from the left front as soon as I press the key to unlock.

The rear suspension is level but seems quite hard. The car drives beautifully except at night when people, understandably, flash my car because of the raised front.

Now we get to the complicated part. The HID headlights when I got the car were rubbish so I sent to UK for halogen replacements. But when we connected the plugs we found that we had 2 wires over on each light from the HID and a warning light came on “air susp fault”. I understand the HID lights are self levelled by the air suspension. I think this is the reason for the warning light, because halogens don’t work off the air suspension??

Sorry about the biography but can somebody please help.

This is a plea for help!

The halogen lights aren't self-leveling. With leftover connections, I'm sure your lights are not talking to the ASM, and that's why you get the screen message. It's not technically a fault in the air suspension, but it is coming from the Air Suspension Module. Correct HID lights are probably your only choice. I can tell you that the lights on my 2007 are wonderful, the best headlights on any car I've ever owned.

If they're aimed improperly, you can fix the lights and keep from blinding oncoming drivers, but you can't eliminate the fault without HID lights that the controller can talk to.
