Alarm going off randomly

My 2007 XJ8 is sounding the alarm while locked and undisturbed. Has anyone had this problem?

Check to make sure your battery is charged as a drop in voltage will set it off even a 1 volt drop is enough good luck

One of the bonnet latches has a switch underneath the latch to

detect bonnet open. Random alarms are often due to this switch

not making.

You can bridge wiring to switch to stop alarms

My problem was passenger door switch

Had same problem when right rear passenger door switch went bad. Thinks someone opened door at random times, setting off alarm. Eventually failed totally to where it never thinks door is closed and doors won't lock.
