Anxious XJ8L at idle in drive
Hello to all,
Background:
Always LIKED the XJ design and fell in LOVE with the XJ8-X350 (bigger, bolder, safer...) after seeing it in person and on the big screen
. Reside in So Cal w/ 2011 Accord (SE) daily driver. Past cars: 325i (in storage ~190k), Lincoln Towncar (totaled ~102k).
Currently:
Purchased XJ8L ~97k as 4th owner (was a trade-in). I am mechanically inclined, day job is office job (suit+tie...), I have worked on the 325i extensively and would gauge myself @ a 5 with home garage+tools (6-10 would be a mechanic with lift and electronic goodies). Car had good Carfax service records (see pics). T-body replaced under warranty pre-CPO resale (see carfax history pic to see what I mean).
Issue:
~98.5k Idle is shaky only in gear at a stop. Shift to neutral goes away, no issue in reverse. Has not stalled and fluctuation is just barely noticeable on the tach (~50-100), hence the thread title. No hesitation once throttle is applied. No engine fault message or any other issues.
*I did search the forums extensively to no avail.
Member's input with shared experience and resolution would be appreciated.

Check the clamps on the air duct are tight, especially the one on the TB. Check if your air filter box is clamped properly. The J004 is an ECU update, not TB replacement, maybe call the dealer to double check if the TB was replaced.
