Lots of compliments on mine, I came back to the XJL in London the other day to find a French couple admiring it, I opened it up so he could sit in, we managed the language barrier ok and he told me he had an early E type at home, they had never properly looked at an X351 before.
The Super V8 gets a lot of comments as well and people do not realise just how old it is.
The comment I appreciated the most was given at the main gate of NAS Miramar.
I'm looking forward to the Oct air show at San Diego MCAS Miramar. But I'll probably take the Prius as i don't fancy parking my Big Kitty in the dirt lot.
I think people in Southern California are just too jaded to give compliments, kind of like neighbors sizing each other up but never talk to each other.
A friend of mine recently asked me what my lease payments were, not thinking I could possibly afford to own such a fine car. He couldn't believe how little I actually paid for the car. Made me look like one of those auto trading geniuses on Velocity Channel.

I have found more mature (not older) people compliment the Jaguar and the younger ones tend to compliment the RR. I will admit since my first Jag (XKE in 1977) I have always admired my one car on a regular basis. I wouldn't call it vanity I would call it appreciation of what we own. Sure never did that when I owned a Taurus in the 90's, LOL.

Nice choice of colour and wheels you have there !!!
No compliments however a neighbor said to me "thats not a Lincoln is it?" when he first saw it.
That prompted me to install a pedestal spoiler on the trunk.
Whats funny is here in the burbs of PHX, AZ I have yet to see a matching one. I have seen that same color but not with these wheels. My wife, love her dearly, thinks we have the only one like this and its rare, LMAO. I told her if I asked on this board how many others had that same combination they would come out of the woodwork........ and without asking seems some have. FYI..... it was this color and wheel combo that caused me to buy this car. I was actually looking to by a 2010 XF when I saw this one.
My 2005 Jaguar XJ8L received a lot of attention, and especially last June when I passed that Michigan State motorcycle cop on the expressway right hand lane going 94 MPH. This happened at night, and I would!!!! have to pass him around a frickin' curve too! I'm still smarting after that unfortunate episode.
I get compliments on the 1997 XJR all the time saying something to effect that they love that classic "Jaguar look" and how "they just don't make them like that anymore".
And all are routinely shocked that it is almost 20 years old... so the style must be timeless
I was at a mall parking lot in north Toronto the other day driving my black '05 VDP and spotted a mint & polished black XK8-R parked off by itself. Parked next to it. The owner of the XK8-R came back to her car as I was getting out of mine. She said "Your car looks great! What year is it?" I said "2005" and she said you keep it near mint - it is a beauty." I complimented her Jag, and she thanked me and said it is her husband's car - she drives a Porsche, but took his car today. We got on to talking about cars - a nice lady.
