Automatic Transmission Fluid Change Advice
I'm going to change the ATF and pan/filter in my 04 VDP on Friday, and I'm seriously considering adding a 24 oz. bottle of Lucas transmission additive. Car has 174k on it, and I have no record of the ATF ever being changed, although I think it must have been somewhere along the line. I've gotten an occasional transmission fault signal, but other than that the transmission seems to be doing pretty well.
Any advice on the wisdom (or lack of it) in using the Lucas additive? I personally love the stuff and have used it successfully in other applications. Thanks.

I used an additive in my gearbox when it was serviced 165,000 k on the clock was still on the original oil the gearbox shop advised against it but I have used this https://www.usalubrications.com/muscle.html product in every car I have ever owned used it in the diesel Jeep gearbox when I bought it with 165,000k,s on it its now got 290,000 k,s on it serviced it every 50,000 k,s only ever bought one transmission in my life and its the only one I never used the MT10 in LOL
Just make sure the Lucas additive is for synthetic oil we don't get the full range here in Australia
I used the Lucas oil stabiliser in my old 450SL Merc years ago was very happy with it
In the end you will get as many for as against it works for me and that's all I am going to say on the subject not wanting to open a can of worms LOL
