Default Backup Sensor Connector?

Are you all able to tell me if this is my backup sensor connector in my trunk? I also don’t know if the mess of wires by my battery is related as well. Right now the sensors don’t work period.

No sir. I believe that is the transit battery connection from the dealer when car was new. Serves no purpose now.

The back up sensors are part of the trunk harness.

Check fuse and each sensor. Harness runs behind rear bumper.

Bracester;

If I recall correctly the rear Parking Aid Module (PAM) is located in the back left corner of the spare wheel storage area. There is a wealth of information on the Forum. You can search for Parking Aid on the forum for more info and photos.

You can find fuse info in either an Owners Manual or the XJ Electrical Guide downloadable from this site. The 04 Electrical Guide shows the PAM in Fig 18.1 with power (B+) coming from a terminal labeled "46". Fig 1.5 shows "46" powered through fuse F32 (5 amp) in the passenger junction fuse box.

If the fuse is good you could have an issue with either the PAM or with individual sensors. A code reader capable of reading Jaguar specific codes would likely help pinpoint the problem area.

Happy hunting!

Best Regards, William
