Default Battery not holding charge, or it is something else????

Hi Folks

My 55 plate 2.7tdvi xj350, has a huge problem, or is a silly little problem, i dont know!!!

On saturday, the battery went flat and had to be jump started. When i arrived at my desination, the car stated it had a gearbox fault and all the lights started flashing, just before i switched thec ar off. Later that evening the car didnt start again and had to be jump started. Drove 40miles home perfectly.

Yesterday, the car started fine and drove 2 miles without any problems.

Today, went somewhere and the car battery went flat again. Got someone to jump start it and it was fine.

I put it down to needing a new battery so i got new one immedaiately.

The car started straightaway without any problems and has been driving fine all day, until about an hour ago.

The carbattery went flat again, so had to get it jump started, but driving back home this time was the most worst experience i have had of owning a x350.

The computer displayed a gearbox fault, then it displayed a park brake fault. There was a lot grinding coming from the front passenger side and then it was like the car went into limp mode. The car at the top of the hill would not hold and kept rolling back. When the lights turned green i put my foot down and the car would hardly move.

When arriving home, the gears where crunching when changing from drive and then finnally when put into park there was a loud grind and bang.

I really hope this isnt the end of my x350.

Can someone please help me!!!??????

Seems that you may have a serious battery drain to start with or a non well functioning alternator that trigger other issues.
But experts may help you more than I.
Good luck!

Well, probably not, but it sounds like the end of something ! I suspect that that something is the torque converter, but I may be wrong, and something has failed in the gearbox. I have to say, it was unwise to drive on with a grinding noise evident, as these things never disappear, they just get worse !

So you now need to get the car recovered to a competent Jaguar specialist or a dealer for an inspection. It does sound expensive, I have to say.
