Been looking to see if there is anything better than the XJ8
And in my opinion the only thing that might be better is an 04+ XJR. I really believe that the 04+ XJ8 is a great car that will go down in history as a classic car and the end of a long and innovative line. The new XJ is certainly a fine car but IMHO another Euro blob car that is indistinguishable on the road from 100 others.
I drove to Houston and back on Saturday and got out the car feeling completely refreshed after 7 hours driving and managed to average 66MPH and 29MPG. What other car gives you the interior space and ambience, comfort, performance and kerb appeal whilst also looking distinctly like a Jaguar? I could always use more power so my next car will be an 06+ XJR and it will be a keeper.

I was very nervous at first about buying any car, much less a Jaguar, SIGHT UNSEEN. But that's what I did when I got my '06 XJR. I can tell you with 100% certainty, you will definately love the power of the R.
I've got no complaints about the ride of my XJR but the seats for a day long drive get to be a real pain in the ***. They are meant to hold you in place for spirited driving as opposed to turnpike cruising. Wish I had a Super 8. I whisper this because the car has been such a joy otherwise.
