Smile Which Bluetooth BTUM to use?

Hi, need some help with setting up bluetooth in my 2004 XJ. My question is regarding BTUM. Can I use C2S49706 which was from a S-type? For the XJ, it specifies C2C39062. However, I have found a BTUM taken from a S-type C2S49706 and wonder if it will work iny XJ.

I believe it should. This is the BT module that goes under the armrest right? Don't forget you also need the PSE, fiber-optic cable and some dealer time to enable it....

Thanks timfountain, its the one that installs under the armrest. I'm thinking the wire may be a little short for an XJ installation as it places further away from the connector than in an S-type in which the unit is installed close to the connector. I'll find out when I receive the part and start putting it all together....

Well, finally finished putting everything together. C2S49706 which is for S and X type works on my XJ. It has a short lead compared to C2C39062 which is for XJ. However, I found there is just enough space at the bottom at the rear of the floor console after removing the rear vent/control panel. I have a 2-zone climate control, and I don't know if there is enough room for the BTUM for the 4-zone climate control panel. However, I find the installation simpler as I don't need to remove the floor console but only to remove the rear vent/control panel to expose the connector and hide the BTUM module inside.

**C2C39062 is now listed at almost $900, way too expensive... I got lucky and found a used one cheap.......

I have put in a PSE, a voice module, a BTUM and an external mic. Everything went well. Be sure to purchase the mounting kit for the voice module, and additional spring nuts and bolts for the PSE. It makes the installation much easier.

C2C15665: voice module mounting kit
C2C26895: spring nut for mounting PSE, need 4
AJ89714: M6 mounting bolt, need 4

I bought the PSE/voice module/BTUM used. Other required parts are new from Nalley Jaguar in GA. Juguar forum discount and free shipping are nice.... My bluetooth works great, phone book uploaded automatically, voice control works well. I am happy with the result.

You will need a new fiber optic harness, a PSE and most likely a microphone at a minimum. If you don't have the voice module and can't get one, than you need to add a jumper to one of the connector. There is a lot of information in the forum. Try searching for PSE, e.g. That's how I found all the info I need. Good luck.
