Bluetooth Connectivity & Secret Menu
I have been having issues with my 2007 X350 connecting t my iPhone7 in as much as it connects.... allows me to upload my phonebook.... mutes the radio on answer.... shows caller id on the car screen.... does everything apart from they cannot hear me!!!
I have disconnected it and re-connected it a few times to see if this works but it is still very hit and miss.
I have been having a scan around the 'secret' menu on the nav system accessed by holding the 'phone' and 'menu' buttons down at the same time for a few seconds.
One issue I found in this menu when you look for the phone type was that it was set up to phone type of 'US CTA' or something like that whereas in the you tube video where the guy war showing the menus the brief image of his 'phone' menu showed as his type as 'EU...... something'.
The issue is I cannot change the type within this menu....
Has anyone else had this issue and managed to cha get it as I am thinking that this may be a factor in my Bluetooth not working correctly??
Thanks!!

Do you have microphone installed? Should be a thing on the driver's side of the overhead console.
Assuming you have microphone installed, there is a bypass cable that needs to be connected to the voice module plug, so the microphone signal reaches the phone module. (This is needed if you don't have voice activation module).
There are a few thread on this forum describing the bypass cable, the search function is your friend - use it wisely.
