Body/Bumper skin damage help
Youngest daughter just wacked a concrete pole and damage the front bumper area. I was looking for suggestions on the cheapest fix. Found a skin on EBay and thought mabe $600 cash might get everything painted so it would be presentable from 25 feet.

OK, but the nearside wing (fender) looks damaged as well and these things can be difficult to get back into shape. Have you looked for a used wing at all ? Once you've replaced the damaged parts, the only job to do then is fit and paint them. Any damage to the bonnet (hood) ? Whether you'll get it all painted for $600 is the question and I don't know as I live in the UK, but modern paints are very expensive, so I suspect you'll need to budget $1000. You also need a shop that is familiar with painting aluminium, as the primer coats are different to those used for steel. The bumper cover is plastic and almost all shops should be familiar with these.
PS, maybe get your daughter a car of her own that has cheaper body parts !

Thanks for the reply. Of course all my buddies agreed with your last sentence. Turns out that its not quite as bad as the pics. All of the white transfer paint buffed out. No damage to the hood. I may have to live with the rest. I'd rather spend the $2,000+ on saving for another Jag. My wife really felt bad for me so this could help set the table for a purchase down the road. That being said if anyone has any other ideas I'll all ears.

I feel for you.
A similar damage on the right rear of the family BMW 116i costs around 1100€ to fix. Especially getting the metal back in a shape is a lot of manual work. The plastic bumper is the smallest position on the bill. Got a shell from ebay, too. But the work required to get the tiny damage of the side wall fixed is quite impressive, and the BMW is steel, which most workshops are much more familiar working with. Aluminum work typically costs quite a premium.
