Default Brake pad recommendations for 2004 XJR

I'm going to replace my front and rear brake pads (once the darn arctic cold in Virginia takes a hike). I have Jag OEM Brembo pads on my car, and they create way too much brake dust that covers the wheels in a few days. I was thinking of the EBC Red Stuff Ceramic pads. Does anyone have any experience with them, and if so, any issues? I'd also like any other brands that you may recommend? Thanks!

I have been thinking of doing it too! I have read a couple people here have used Akebono pads. They are about $200 all the way around.

They dont make Akebono pads for the front wheels on the X350 2004-2007 only the rear. EBC Red Stuff are very good pads I have them on my 2005 XJR. (upper Marlboro Maryland). They do have the Akebono pads for the S-type 2000-2009 My wife has a 2004 (English Auto Odenton Maryland Check out the web site) . Oh yes its cold. (MPD)

Used Redstuff on my X type and have fitted them to the rear of my XJ.
Virtually no brake dust and great brakes.
Dirt on rear wheels is just road grime.
Original rear pads will only last around 15k (due to electronic handbrake) and EBC pads claim to last up to 6x longer
Definately will get redstuff for fronts once they wear.
I thoroughly recommend them as from my experience there are no downsides...great braking hot or cold!

I assume you mean for the XJR. I replaced the rotors and the pads with Akebono pads on all 4 paws on my XJ8. Virtually no dust (or squeak) and good brake performance.

I have the same car as yourself over here in the UK.
I have just had an e-mail from EBC following an enquiry about pads. They have recommended Yellow Stuff pads for my XJR with standard discs.
Hope that hepls.
