On my 04 XJR I have been having an issue, less frequent at first, and now quite often. When I go to start the car, when the key is turned to start, of course the doors all lock, but then the glove box opens, and 80% of the time the fuel filler door opens!
Any ideas as to why? The car now has 94,000 miles and the original battery, so I know that sometimes an old battery on these cars can do weird things.
I did have the terminals off about 6 months ago when I did the front shocks.

I would change the battery out, since it is the original. I've read that old batteries can cause all kinds of electrical issues like what you describe above.

That's what I'm hoping...now the interior light comes on after I start the car and I have to push the button on the overhead console to turn it off

This morning I asked my daughter to put a cd case in the glove box. She reached for the button to open it and then decided to just wait for me to start the car
Auto open!
