Buying advice
Howdy. First post. I looked for a buyers guide...didn't see one.
I'm looking at a '95 XJR, 100k, looks nice in the pic. The guy says it's got a bad transmission, and wants $1500 for it. I love the car, have since they came out, and I want it. Part of me though feels like a guy on a ledge who needs to be talked down.
I've been into Volvo's, Alfa's (way back when), V-dubs, and other stuff that requires metric tools, and patience. I'm cool with doing some pretty involved work, but I've never owned a Jag. I did get some good (?) advice once though....guy says "all you ever need to know about Jaguars is never buy one with a V-12, or square headlights".
This car has neither, so it must be good, right?
So, what should I look at? Or look for? What should I expect in terms of maintenance items? Any advice appreciated.
