Default Cabin Air Filter - 2004 XJ8

Just got new charcoal infused cabin air filter for my 2004 XJ8. Can anyone tell me how where it's located in the car so I can replace the old one? Owner's manual has nothing on the subject.

Open the hood, look on the right (passenger) side of the windshield cowl. There's a plastic door that mirrors the one for the brake fluid reservoir. Open that and you'll see the cabin filter.

It can be a royal pain in the tail to remove and replace. When you reinstall you have to make SURE that it is properly seated WITYHIN the covering piece at the bottom or it WILL NOT go back together properly.

Don't ask me how I know<G><G>

I confirm that is true! Looking in the plenum chamber, do check for water, as there is a drain there that can get blocked.
