Can I wire a 6 pin throttle body into a 4-pin throttle body on my 2004 XJ8

No, you can’t just rewire it. Different pinouts, different signal types. The 2008 TB is electronic with a different communication protocol. Even if you match wires, the ECU won’t talk to it. Stick with the correct 4-pin for your 2004.
