Has anyone ever changed the chrome bumper blade on a 2004 XJ8? Is it difficult? Can I do it myself or do I have to take it to a body shop?

I am about to...Front or rear either way the bumpers have to come off to do it right...The moldings are about 115$ each...

Yes just done mine bumper has to come off plus the washer hose and packing the old clips are plastic I changed mine while I had them off the new ones are metal

 

Thank you clifton94. I am so angry about this! My car is near perfect inside and out, you'd never know it's 12 years old. I'll never use valet parking ever again! Ah well! Off to the body shop.

 

Any bodyshop would probably R&R the front bumper and install the moldings for 150-200$ and 200-250$ for the rear maybe less...I had my rear bumper cover R&R, and painted for 250$ last week...He removed the moldings, park sensors, and side markers and did it right! Most discount for cash if you ask...
