Disabling double locking
XJR 350 2004 Is it possible to disable the double locking.
I've just read through some posts regarding not being able to open the doors. In my case Inside small locking lever and the door opening lever are interlocked and become disengaged ( jump over one another) which stops the door opening lever returning. In my case I have posted what I found and the repair I have made on that thread.
While searching the forums there is a lot about not using double locking and yes I can understand why but it is all too easy to do.
Is there a way of disarming this either in the software or would one have to physically disconnect the double locking actuators.
Any idea or problems it may cause it would be appreciated.
Bill.

I have a feeling it is in the system menu on the touch screen if you have the sat nav screen. I think it is in the same place as turning the auto power fold mirrors on and off.
Without me going out to the car and checking exactly where it is you may be able to do a quick look on the menu system.

The option in the touchscreen is to turn on/off the two-stage unlock, that's where the drivers door unlocks on one press, the others unlock on the 2nd press.
To disable the double locking (deadlocking) you need the IDS, SDD or even an old WDS diagnostic system.
Willgo, as you are in Devon, try to get in touch with xdave here on the forum, he has the equipment and the know-how to fix this for you.
As an alternative, only press the lock button on the remote once when you lock the car, this will not engage the deadlocks, when you press twice is when it deadlocks.

Thank you both for your replies.
I do have the IDS-SSD program on a laptop. As you think the option might be in there somewhere I will try to find it.
There is an awful lot in the IDS- SSD program and I can see why Jaguar mechanics need to go on a course to use it properly.
I do take the point of only triggering the alarm once, what I find as does my wife it is all too easy to trigger it twice. That's why I am seeking a more permanent solution.
Ideally I'd like to disable the deadlocking/double locking and keep the wing mirror folding operation, as I said to have a look in program.
Since writing the original post I have had a look through the wiring diagrams I thought might be of interest.
It would appear that disconnecting to connections at the rear electronics module CR4 12 and CR4 11 yellow green wires which are the deadlock feeds to the passenger doors would solve the problem there and not too difficult to get access to. The driver's door you need to access the driver door module the connection there is DD 11/10 yellow green wire. All three connections are battery voltage. As far as I can work out this will disable double locking but keep in place the folding mirrors. The only problem I can see is by disconnecting these feeds will the electronics read this as a fault?.
I do enjoy solving repairing problems myself but as you can see I'm not an expert so who is XDave and how do I contact him.
Once again thanks for your help and input.
