Default Discovery Air Suspension Compressor

My Jag specialist has told me that the suspension compressor is on the way out on my XJ8. I'm aware that rebuild is an option, however I have a friend with a spare unit from a land rover discovery. My understanding is that it's essentially the same Wabco pump, my question is - can a unit from a discovery be fitted "as is" to a 2003 XJ8? Any adaptations required? Anyone on here ever done this successfully? The disco compressor would certainly be the cheapest option for me as it's free!

I personally have never heard of this, however Jaguar and Land Rover parts are very similar these days, if not the same in some cases.

What year is the Discovery, I assume this is a Disco 3 or Disco 4??

I think the Disco is a 2006 - guess that would make it a 3?

I don't have access to parts catalogue, but doing google search they do look a little different.

You may need to take the one on your XJ out ( can take out in about 10 minutes through wheel arch liner ) and compare it. Since they are located in different areas between the 2 vehicles, some modifying may need to be done.
