Default Do I need to replace the oil pump?

I have a 1992 xj6 sovereign, I got it as a project, so far so good, but lately I noticed after engine reach to Normal temperarute, in idle the oil pressure goes to red, if I accelarated it goes back to half way of the oil gauge. I haven't remove the oil sender unit and replace it with a gauge to check the readings, I know there is nothing wrong with the gauge, because when engine is in idle and the oil gauge goes in red, the performance of the engine gets affected.

reading the services manual, to replace the oil pump, you either have to remove the engine completly off or drop off the front suspension.

That means I have to send it to the shop, cause I dont have that equipment to remove neither one.
How can I be sure is the oil pump that is going bad? to save me all that hassle?

Any advise it will be appreciate it.

Gus

Wrong forum. Search in the x300, there is a couple threads on this issue. I do believe that the sending units have a problem and only show one pressure.
