Default does this happen to anyone else?

atleast 3-4 times a week i have some one that wants to race me on the highway. being a guy thats pride is too big for my own good i happily accept and stomp that pedal to the floor! its usually a cadillac cts, some kind of BMW, or a dodge charger that feels like he has something to prove with his loud exhaust and hemi. nothing makes me smile bigger than me showing them what my tail lights look like from a behind. my favorite race was when i killed a charger he took the next off ramp exit like that was where he was going the whole time but i knew better. aw so sad your car was more growl and very little bite? haha.

Nope! Can't say I have. Last time I went to DMV to get a copy of my complete record it was about 15 pages long!!! I think they have a cut off somewhere not looking to find it.

On a lighter note I was thinking about hitting the track sometime this year for a few pulls on Friday night! I have yet to push the pedal all the way to the floor, not even briefly. 1/2 - 3/4 did put a really nice smile on my face as well as the wifes.

yea not gona lie. i have a few speeding tickets myself which is now why i have a radar jammer, "knock on wood" i haven't been pulled over since having it for nearly six months. don't if its luck or if it really works.
here in houston they have a few raceway parks that anyone can race when no even is happening. i never put my car on the track but I'm thinking about it.

I had to slow down a bit while going up a ramp to a highway due to some gravel. Some punk behind me in a Mustang was getting all upset (guess he thought I should have been going faster) and shaking his head at me. Well, well I think. Let's show this guy what an XJR can do! I floor it and literally leave him in my dust! When he finally caught up to me on the highway he wanted another go at it. I had to oblige him again with another full throttle blast from the Jag. He wasnt able to catch up...

I love this car!

haha don't you just love it when that happens! just because its a mustang or some other muscle car doesn't always mean its muscled up enough. some people think loud exhaust = fast. its so not the case.

I do love it when that happens! The R is such a "sleeper". I'm in the mood to go hunting for Mustangs now!

Yes, that and random compliments from strangers, which I never mind. Sometimes they roll down their windows at the stoplight just to comment on the car. On the highway in my old XJ6s I knew better than to race the older gents in their newer Caddies. In the '01 and especially the '05 I've got little to worry about. In your Super you've got nothing to worry about!

Spank one of those newest Subaru Sti on the highway on the way back from Chicago in May. The circumstances is my car is loaded with 3 people total and some misc. luggage and business stuff and doing about 85-90 mph on the highway. The STI wanted to play and smoke him/her(both our window are tinted dark so can't verify) 3 times. 2 instances I know I let go the go pedal at about 140MPH and the STI is way behind. So my thinking is either the STI didn't play hard enough or is it really that slow on the higher end of the top speed spectrum?

Also countless times on the highway many of those Charger, 300 v6 and 300C, Bimmer(mostly 5 series) and occasianally Cadillac. Once in a while Mustang and Camaro etc but mostly v6.

@ casper ya those cars are pretty awesome low end, with super high revving rpm engines. there is a good chance it would give you a run for your money at take off but already at high speeds not so much. it depends on the driver and how good they are with that stick.

I didnt see anything about bragging or street racing???
Racing would meen there are 2 cars lined up side by side of fairly equal abilites with someone standing between them (preferably blonde in shorts) to signal start of a race...
That being said i have some very fast cars, drag race on the strip with a 8sec el camino @165+mph, in my 50's and hope i never "growup" if you meen having a boring lackluster life where you park a fat *** on the couch at night in front of the tv like so many people do when they"grow up" you can keep it
cheers

Cute. If you saw no bragging you should read again. At least you save your excessive speed for the track. I have been supersonic (literally) many times. I don't fulfill my need for speed on the street.

I like hearing aobut competing with others, either on the track or around town. The part where its illegal just makes it more of a challenge. I have always loved fast vehicles. I ocassionally feel the need for speed. I typically use my motorcycles to do the dirty deed as they are much faster than the cars and the rush is amplified. I like 0-60 in 3.0 quite a bit.

it has nothing to do with growing up, it has to do with enjoying your car no matter what type it is. some of us enjoy driving fast, it doesn't mean we are immature. what i do find immature is inserting a negative opinion when were here trying to enjoy ourselves on a forum. there's no call for it.

In this post I would like to make a formal apology to all the readers and posters, Admin etc about what I post earlier(Post #8 in this thread).

I would admit what I post and did on the highway at that time is infact really stupid and illegal and I want to apologize to all here that it won't happen again. I am not going to explain the situation at that time that leads me to the stupid act trying to get me out of this **** storm and I will gladly accept any critiques and flaming towards me as a reminder as well as a wake up call.

I don't know what else I can/should do to rectify this situation because the damage is done. I would still love to be part of this awesome forums and enjoying the British engineering.

Thanks and sorry again for my stupidity.

We're all a little irresponsible at times. What we should not do is drive dangerously.

I don't see a lot of people expecting "speed" from my wife's VDP. When we're in it, lots try and out run us in various situations. We usually don't push it in her car.

I have not had any issues in my car. I've only had one modded Bm'er try...the rest sort of just slow down.
