need to change the whole drivers door on my XJ8 X350 2003.

its cheaper than re spray and buying side mirror.

was looking for some info on that but couldn’t find it.

anyone have any tips/instructions please?

First step is as follows from the shop manual;

Front door trim panel removal (76.34.01)

I purchased a copy with a disk, from the internet, before i found this site

 

Or if you had an Audi A8 the process would start with Remove engine!

Don't forget to swap any switch packs or control modules in the old door to the new door as they are coded to the car. Also there are variations on the door mirrors, power fold, auto dimming, heated and so on. I bought a new mirroe from Jag as it was only 60 quid more than a second hand one.
