doors and windows
My window is stuck down on the drivers door. replaced battery and it fixed rear passenger window but drivers will not go up. I repaired the switch and it still won't work. I'd like to power check the motor. QUESTION 1) when prying off the door panel what is the correct panel to pry. the white plastic or the black ring around the edge of the white plastic. I only get one chance without breaking it. Also when I repair the switch I checked and it operates the passenger window.
You need to find all the screws holding the(white) door card and the lever it off around the edges.
You will then be faced with the black moisture barrier which you can remove when you have removed
the hidden screws around the edge.
NB hidden screw behind chrome handle and right at the bottom of door card
there is a screw facing upwards.

The screw in the centre bottom of the door is plastic so don't go at it with the strength of hercules, also note that when you take the screw out put it back in a few turns and pull to remove the sleve the screw goes in. You will see what I mean when you see it. There are 2 screws in the door pull and one hidden behind a blanking panel on the door release. Once these are all out pull around the edge of the door panel to remove, don't forget the door lights. . Either pull the light from the bottom of the door to disconnect it or do it from behind once the door panel is off. Almost forgot about the door release cable, just align the cable with the cutout in the door handle release and it will come off And the door switch power connector will need releasing.
As mentioned above you will now be presented with another plastic panel held on by approx 1 billion torx screws, T20 i think. I think the drivers door mirror has a cover that need removing but it has been a while since I took mine off list so I cannot remember now.

got it all apart without breaking anything... now the driver door control module says this part is programmable. any clue on how to program it? my driver window is inop and the rear left window goes down but not up. did a hard reset twice. rt rear window was inop but now works. I may need to replace the switch panel for driver door. really starting to gnaw on me.
Ok I have replaced the window motor... no joy. I have replaced the switch box in the door, Some hope I now have one touch up/down on all windows except driver. I don't know how to check the pins to know that they are getting voltage at the right time. (I was an airframer not an avionics guy) anyone else have suggestions. I don't want to just keep changing parts, I can check the pins with both a multimeter and a testlight but I don't know what or when they should be hot. I don't want to take it to pay someone a grand and him fix it in 2 minutes. But the current priority is to secure the vehicle.

Only the red pin is hot whether any buttons are activated or not, which makes sense because it should be hot. no other pins light up regardless of buttons next step is ddcm which I can get used for $45.00. still don't know if that will fix it
You need to get the error codes read by a proper jaguar system IDS etc. I think the DDM is programmed to the car so best not to randomly swap them. For now you could take the motor off the window regulator and you should then be able to pull the glass up, put the motor back on to stop it dropping down again.
