Default Driver's seat not lowering

It's very cold here in Illinois, and I've noticed a correlation: my driver's seat no longer lowers to easy egress position once I've turned off the ignition and opened the door of my XJ8. I'm hoping this is simply a cold weather glitch. (The memory function does work, and I did reset the three memory positions. That worked, but the seat still doesn't lower, nor does the steering wheel lift out of the way.) Anyone else experience this?

Have you somehow, (accidentally) managed to move the steering wheel/pedals adjustment "joystick" switch off its central (neutral) position ?

Well, it's like this: the night I posted that query, I had a sudden flash of what passes for insight with me. What if I had left the adjuster in the steering wheel adjust position? Since it was cold and snowy and 2:00 a.m., I waited until morning to run out to the car, and yes, it was switched forward, in the steering wheel position. I then turned it to the neutral position, started the car, turned it off, and voila! The seat lowered and the steering wheel raised up. Am rather embarrassed.
