Default Easter Egg

Just bought my first Jaguar in mid December. 2004 XJ8...

I read the manual front to back and have since given the car a good once over... Just found my first Easter Egg.
Accidentally pulled up on the cup holder and behold a secret compartment!

Any other Easter Eggs?

Tom

if you have the full depth cup holders then it would totally fill the space, surprises are fun though!

Where does one get the full depth cup holders? They are pretty useless as they are now. Cups fall out of it very easily.

Not only full depth but larger diameter. I agree the stock ones are useless.

im sure its a dealer part, i wish i had a picture to show you...i saw this tray randomly in my trunk before and wasnt sure what it was for before this thread lol Also different model years have different designs for full depth. my 03 was different then the 06 V8 loaner i was driving all weekend (took my friends S in for him as a favor)

im 99% sure its applicable for XJs i mean the hole looks the same as in my S

Sorry about the duplicate picture, I'm still a rookie here

It looks like one is for coke cans or bottle water while the other is for fast food drinks.

Panels...
Neat find. I checked mine and it's the same way.Yours is nice and clean. Mine is disgusting. It seams to me that the tray is there tocollect spilled Starbucks, soda orColt 45 that spills out and down through the little rubber band tensioners when the ******* in front of you slams on their brakes.

Mine were filthy too, I put them in the dishwasher on short cycle. Now they look great.

Speaking of slamming on the brakes, yesterday I was going down a 2 lane county road at about 65-70 mph when someone pulled right out in front of me. I slammed on the brakes and was ready to hear bending sheet metal in 1 or 2 seconds. Went from cruise speed to crawl in 200 feet. Was most impressed by the way the car handled it. No screeching tires or swerving just a confident panic stop. The moron that pulled out in front of me had handicapped license plate on his car. I guess thats for how you drive as well as where you can park.
I wish I had as much grace under pressure as my car does!!!

they must have had colt45 in their cupholders! lol those 2 lane roads up near gainesville have horrible drivers and are usually way over crowded! Glad to hear you slowed down in time, hope your enjoying your jaguar C. Good thing you werent in the Bentley !

Dishwasher or just warm water and dishsoap work well on the cupholder, the felt lining below can acutally be quite disgusting as well. Id just recommend a soapy wet paper towel to start off with, and then a woolite wipe after, then a thorough drying. The combination will get any old residue/smells out quite well.
