Well fellow jag lovers, I have a xjr 2005 that has a performance restriction mode, after all diagonostic made, the reason or cause is the ecu corruption, I got another ecu, but the problem is that they cant retrieve the information due to the condition of the original ecu. Now i am stranded with no ecu, please anyone has a solution for this problem, i will really appreciate
any information, i live here in Puerto Rico, Carribean island

 

I would have thought that if the car runs then the ECU should be accesable to read the data off it. I would think you would have to use the genuine Jaguar software though and that can be a bit difficult to use as it is not very user friendly,

 

thanks for the information, currently the ecu both of them are at ecmaverick in fort myers in florida, lets see what they can do

 

ECU corruption is just a matter of re-flashing with SDD.

 

thanks for your reply and concern, but I posted the ecu condition wrong, the ecu is damage due to water leakage or excess humility, such is the corrution that some pins are not functional, creating the restriction performance mode, since the reading for the knock sensor is unavailable. the entity in Florida, is telling me that they can retrieve the information from the original ecu, despite the fact that the motor run but in the restriction mode, now i am stuck without neither ecu.

 

download old vid block upload it to new ecm. if you can’t do that program used ecm as new and run vid block recovery procedure. basically unhook the ecm and wait for ids to time out looking for old vid, plug it back in

or if you’re lazy just run immo on the used ecm as long as it’s from an xjr around the same year it will work
