Quite sure that i needed to replace those eight seals in my case.
Nothing else worked, i really didn't want to go through the task if not needed.
After the replacement the check engine lite stayed off.

We smoke tested it and there was smoke coming from the intake area. Couldn't pinpoint the culprit but the orange gaskets were raised and no longer flush

Those gaskets should be "raised", when there is no force on them. It's how they seal. When you tighten the manifold into place, and "crush" the gaskets, you create the seal.

Gary, for potential future reference, where did you find them please?

It was on eBay but the seller has been away since October of 2019 so it does not look very promising

Coventry West;

Lithonia Ga. 30058

Back in time a few years, 6/30/17, i purchased a set for $99.92 delivered.
They were green with black pieces that fit into spaces like originals did.
Since then i have seen them for less

10th grade science project? Heck, Ray Charles could have designed a better hose route.

I was just wondering how your car did not require the green gaskets with the tabs. Did you have the intake manifold replaced before? I have a 2004 XJ8 and I am confused as to which part to get. I don't want to open it up and find I have bought the wrong part. Thanks in advance!
