my X350 XJ8 2003 being funny with me.

I read through many posts here but haven’t encounter a similar situation I’m in hence this post.

so I’ve decided to clean some fuses, left the battery connected but the car was off.

started with the instrument cluster fuse in drivers, mine is RHD , due to some codes related to it.

After replacing it and restarting the car bunch of lights came on and then after a while left but one problem persists - I can’t lock the car.

before I did what I did everything worked nicely!

i get two beeps, also noticed that steering wheel function stopped, so it wont adjust up/down/forward or back. But the seats and pedals adjust fine.

any ideas what’s the problem?

ive cleaned the front ground/earth points. Planning to do others soon. But what else?!

This is just a guess. Just like your stalk left and right. Get another turn knob pedal /auto /wheel and exchange , open the lid below the steering and exhange it
have the same problem on the steering wheel. Will do mine soon

 

Also on my other x350 xj6 I had 3 of the 4 12volt cigarette lighter plugs 5 amp fuses blown. The only one working was in the glove box.
my point is to pull out every single fuse to check since none of the 3 where recognisable from the outside beiing shot.
