Default EVAP and other ongoing issues

I've had a myriad of issues with one of my 2004 XJR's. Parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, air suspension all give me errors. I can't figure it out. Car runs and drives fine. Air suspension works as it should, the others, not at all. The issue that affects me however is the EVAP. I havent smoked it (I dont have a machine) however I have used MAP gas to see if I could find an engine compartment issue and haven't. Changed the gas cap and also installed a new OEM EVAP purge valve in the inner fender area. All lines and hoses look fine.

SDD is telling me I have an air ride sensor issue (changed it, reset, no difference), still comes up, Parking sensor module (changed that, reset) still comes up, and adaptive cruise module that I have but haven't changed. These issues all popped up within a month. Ive done some ground checking and no issue there as well as checked a few connectors

ANYWAY....Any idea what to check EVAP wise as it's my main priority? These codes Come up . P0442-small leak P0456- very small leak P0457--fuel cap off loose.

I would normally think when something like this happens they are all related but I cant find the issue. Hoping someone has an idea where to check. It's at the point where these lights/errors are annoying the heck out of me. Thanks!

Damon

Just to rule out the obvious question, when you refill the car, when refitting the fuel cap do you rotate it until it has give you at least three clicks of the cap clutch?

Have you done any work on the fuel tank recently with respect to fuel pump or sender unit?
The reason I ask that is the big 'O' rings sometimes don't reseat nicely when you refit the large securing ring and can give you a subtle air leak in the tank system.

Revisiting this as I been busy. No work. Just one day all of the evap codes appeared and change gas cap. Put new OEM gas cap, changed evap purge valve. All line look fine that I can see. No gas smell. Im lost. The other items....A break yard said they had a good ACC module for my car. I gave them the part # and said it has to come from an 04..YAH YAH YAH..I get it. Its the wrong one. I pulled mine out, looks like it was cracked and repaired. Also I noticed cadillac XLR units look identical. Teh EVAP issue is first on my list and driving me crazy

Have you done a hard reset with the battery leads to see if the codes come back ?

ACC can be very problematic maybe get rid of it?

I cleared codes but never did a hard reset. When the evap monitor goes to set, thats when all the codes come up. Not sure a hard reset would change anything but worth a try.

I guess if my SDD worked I could just get rid of the ACC? I never used it anyway and now my cruise doesn't work at all. Parking sensors dont work yet I can here them ticking with my phone. Changed module no difference. Checked bumper "plug" looks fine. Maybe related to cruise? I have NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IDEA

My air suspension error comes up. Scan says its passenger side front sensor. Its been changed. Maybe its the strut that's leaking? When all errors were cleared with SDD by a friend they all came back.

My other xjr. Never had an issue. Even when I had a leaky front bag I never had an error message. Just vehicle too low till it filled up.

I seriously hate dashboard lights...especially when the car runs and drives great!
So

The main thing a hard reset will do is clear all the OBD monitors (caution: they are needed set for smog tests in many places).

Won't clear codes in most (any?) modules.

Will also clear learned PCM values such as fuel trims.

Only way I can get smog check is if I set all monitors except evap and make sure I have a full tank. I'm allowed one monitor to not be set. I'm able to check and clear codes normally.

There has to be one typical hose that cracks that would make this happen if its not the Ev
Ap valve itself or gas cap. My other xjr never had a light on ever and this one is driving me crazy

If you have had this car for quite a while and this evap issue is a recent occurrence, have you accessed the fuel tank to service/replace a fuel pump or fuel sender unit?
If this has been an ongoing issue since you acquired the car, perhaps it is a legacy of some prior work done that you are unaware of.
If whomever hasn't quite achieved a thorough seating of those big O rings, then you can get a subtle air leak that can give you evap errors.

Are all the fuel trims OK (hot engine, parked, at idle & then at about 2500rpm)?
