failed to adjust my wipers
Hi,
My wipers stop a little bit to high, so they miss the heating zone of my windscreen.
I tried to adjust, but the raster just allows me to adjust them much to low or in the actual position.
Do I need to care about the raster ?
Where can I make a slight adjustment.?. the raster only allows me to make a raw adjustment.

I do not know exactly what you mean but I understand that raster means screen.
The only way to adjust your wipers is by removing the wiper from the spigot and replacing it in a slightly different position.
I suggest that you make a drawing of what you want to do and upload it or upload pictures of your windscreen and wipers.

Ok, I'll try to clarify..
I want to adjust the wiper pivot arm to 56mm as shown in the workshop manual.
So I remove the wiper pivot arm as shown.
I adjust the wiper to 56mm and I tighten the retaining nut... the wiper arm starts to move back to the old position. (70mm)
When inspecting the spigot, I can see cogs on it. They match with the pattern in the pivot arm. This "grid" forces me to adjust the wiper in raw steps of about 20cm.. no chance to get this precisely adjusted to 56mm.
Should I force the pivot arm more hard to stay in its position while tightening the nut ?

I have exactly the same Jag as you but 11.2003.
There are splines on the spigot and slots to match on the arm. These splines are
0.5mm apart and the arm can be fitted in any position.
Perhaps yours is different or damaged ??
Maybe you can upload pic of your cogs?

Maybe, I adjusted the pivot arm better than I thought.. measurement shows 9mm off the ideal position.
What makes me wonder:
The heating wires in the screen are just slightly touched be the wiper.
When the wiper stops on a dry screen, it stops above the wires.
Isn't the wiper to be supposed to stop within the heating wires ?

Your screen heater is very different to mine.
I have never seen screen heaters like that!
My screen heater is a fine wire mesh which covers the whole screen.
I don't think the park position of your wiper is critical.
