I sold a wiper motor, and had an inquiry on how to remove the old one, and install a new one.
I didn't mind documenting how to do it for my client, but thought it may be helpful to add it to my site as well..
So here goes.... Series 3 XJ6 Wiper Motor Removal and Installation...
Wiper Motor Removal
Hope it helps someone....

As close to perfect as it can get. Slick. But, I hope not to need it???
Comment: Once the cover is off, you see a gooey mess. Ever try to clean it up. lube it with fresh grease and power it up. I've saved some non-Jaguar stuff with similar goo doing that.
Side bar: The ignition switch you sent me works perfectly. Fixed a lot of stuff.
Smooth, yet firm, much different than the one it replaced.

Thanks for the feedback Carl..
I agree those wiper motors are pretty hardy, and seem to last a long time... One thing I have seen is the wiring connectors rusting away, so that when you pull the wiring harness out of place, the connectors come out with it. Jaguar had just that part available, but it seems to be tough to find, and with the cost it's just about as cheap to replace the whole motor..
Cleaning it up is a good idea... You are correct that it's a big hunk of grease packed in there...
Glad to hear that ignition switch cured some ills.... Another parts car saving some lives.....
Cheers!
