Default FETM location?

Long story short, I need to replace my FETM as it won't reflash in SDD.

Where is it? Can't find any info online.

Possibly! I assumed the module was separate as when i checked all the modules it came from a different VIN. And on the screen it said it was from an X type.

My CD Changer and Navigation audio are both not working.

The CD Changer wasn't a big issue years ago, but I just changed the front deck from CD to MiniDisc, so I'd like to have it working

Every time I try to reprogram the Audio Module it fails. SDD calls it the FETM.

Any help appreciated 😀

So, all You need is reflash it as a new module not existing module.

VID Block can be corrupted if other flashing is done after Xtype FETM instaling.

The VID block is fine, all other modules working fine amd reflash ok.

Is the FETM a physical module?

I Googled "Jaguar XJ8 FETM" and AI generated a pretty good overview.

"The term "FETM" in relation to a Jaguar XJ8 likely refers to a problem or issue, possibly related to the vehicle's electronic control unit (ECU) or engine management system. While "FETM" isn't a standard or official term, it's possible it's a specific error code, a slang term, or a shorthand for a particular fault.
Here's a breakdown of possible meanings and implications:
Possible Interpretations:
  • Fault Error/Trouble Code: In the automotive world, codes are used to identify specific malfunctions. "FETM" could be a non-standard code used by the car's ECU, perhaps specific to a particular brand or model.
  • Slang/Jargon: It's possible "FETM" is a term used in the automotive community, perhaps referring to a specific type of engine or transmission issue.
  • Incorrect Term: It's also possible that "FETM" is not a valid term or a typo. [1]
Possible Causes of Engine Problems: [2]
  • Electrical Issues: Jaguars are known for having complex electrical systems. Problems with wiring, sensors, or ECU could cause a range of issues, including engine performance problems.
  • Mechanical Issues: The engine itself could have problems. These could include problems with timing chains, sensors, or the engine's internal components. [2]
Troubleshooting Steps:
If you're experiencing issues with a Jaguar XJ8 and the term "FETM" is relevant, here are some suggestions: [3]
  1. Consult a Jaguar Specialist: If possible, consult a mechanic experienced with Jaguar XJ8 models. They can use diagnostic tools to identify specific error codes or problems.
  2. Check Error Codes: Use an OBD2 scanner to see if "FETM" appears as a code.
  3. Review Manual: Refer to the vehicle's owner's manual to see if the term is explained or related to a specific issue.
  4. Search Online: Try searching online with "Jaguar XJ8 + [error code/slang term]" to see if others have experienced similar issues.
  5. Consider a Complete Inspection: If you're unsure about the cause of the problem, have a mechanic perform a comprehensive inspection to identify potential problems".
You may be darting to various sites to get where you want to go, but you'll figure it out.

Generative AI is experimental.

CD Changer not working. Showing as not fitted. I've enabled it in dealer options and on the Audio Module on SDD.

When I access the hidden menu I can enable it, but when the car is turned off it disables it again. CD Changer not recognised at all. It gets power ok and all wires are connected.

Audio Module was taken from an X Type as per this picture. It won't reflash. I also dont have rear entertainment. I keep disabling it, it keeps reappearing in the menu intermittently.
