finding parts on ebay
If you are looking for parts put in "jaguar x350" or which ever you have. This brings up a lot more items then searching for something like "jaguar xj".
Don't know if this is common knowledge or not but discovered this after a while and might help other new owners.

Alex,
Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us!
I'm not sure what parts you were searching for, but in general my experience with eBay has been just the opposite. I just searched "Jaguar XJ" in Parts and Accessories and got 123,863 listings, which includes parts for the earliest XJs from 1968 to the latest X351. That's too many listings to bother weeding through, since the vast majority of those parts won't even fit my car.
I then searched "Jaguar X350" and got 1,920 listings, which is much better, but not all sellers know that the part they're selling is from an X350 because they don't know the Jaguar factory project codes. So including X350 in the search terms actually limits the number of hits.
If instead I search "04 Jaguar XJ," I get 7,986 listings, a high percentage of which have a strong possibility of fitting my car. You might try searching "05 Jaguar XJ" to see if it works for you too.
The other thing to be aware of is that not all sellers know, for example, that a part they removed from an '09 XJ may also fit an '04, '05, '06, '07 or '08. So you may have to search all the possible two-digit years to be sure you find all the possible listings for parts that might fit your car.
Cheers,
Don

You know I did not even look at the count. You are correct many more listings under xj. I think the thing that led me to my original statement was more the content of the listings. Under the "x350" listing it seems to be almost all used parts from junk yards. Under the xj listing there are all manner of things from watches to clothing to parts. I think in my mind I translated that into not a lot of listings because there seemed to be things that were not really parts.
