Default Freon Leaking Around the Valve of Compressor

96 XJ6 VDP. Freon seems gone so I try to charge it.

When I charge it I found freon leaking and compressor oil with leak detector coming off the "valve" of the compressor. I though it is pressure regulator but not sure. Captured video here.

Any suggestions for this issue? Compressor seems working fine as long as the freon is still circulating before it is gone (take several hours down to the pressure the compressor will not kicks in.

If I think I know what I am looking at I would say the schrader valve has gone.

So long as you know the size they can be extracted with a special tool and replaced.

Needs to be done quickly to minimize impact of moisture so a day with low humidity is best choice unless you have specialized equipment.

Hmm, now the problem becomes finding the right part.

I tried to google around, but no luck for the valve. On ebay I saw some compressor with that piece attached...

There are plenty of a/c schrader valves on Ebay however not specifically, as far as I can see, for Jaguar.

Possibly Ford fits. Best thing is to take it out and cap the hole and try and match it at a place like Napa.

Before you r/r the valve, try tighting it with a special tool or a metal tire valve stem cap (some old style tire caps have the top designed to lossen/toghten the inner valve stems). Im not sure that these type of valves for other than tires have that ability). Its worth a try.
Good luck.
