Default Front Ride Height Uneven - Right Side Sitting High

Driving the car the last few days and noticed that the steering wheel was off a bit. Not much, but enough to notice something was different. Didn't even think about it when I got home but last night I noticed the car was sitting uneven in the front. Right side is sitting about 1-2" higher than the Left.

I know there's only one ride height sensor on the front left side, what would cause the right side to be retaining more air and sitting a bit high?

Mine does have two sensors on the front so is unlikely to do what I will describe as a guess what has happened. Although they removed one sensor I do not know if they linked the lines to equalize air pressure in the two front shocks. If it still uses two valves it may adjust while on an uneven grade, leaving one high and one low. When back on level it will no longer be level. If this is possible then releasing all air from both front shocks, while on level ground, and letting it readjust while still level may even it up again.

That actually is helpful, thank you. From reading I believe everything else is the same (other than one less sensor) so your theory could prove correct. But how would it know to level the other side without a sensor?

I did start parking the car in a different spot in my driveway a few weeks back when I brought home another car, and that spot is not even so this does make sense. I moved it to a flat spot this morning and it looks better, but right side front is still a bit high. I'll take it out for a drive later and park it on a flat surface for the night and see what happens. Hopefully its a non-issue and it will level out.

Again big assumption - If the sensor reads high or low the two valves would open for the same period of time until the sensor was back to normal. Since the pressures would be different in the struts the amount of air entering would differ. The overly high one would be taking more weight and have higher pressure so would take less air. Over a few levelings they both would return to the even level they should be at.

Verty interesting and does make sense if it does indeed work that way. It was parked for a few days in that small "hole" and havent driven it more than a few miles since. I'll take it out for a good ride and see how it goes. Thanks again for the response.

Maybe the attached document might help to clarify some of your questions, it is an official document from Jaguar regarding the deletion of the front right sensor.

Best regards,

Thomas

Car has sorted itself out, sits nice and level now. Not sure what go into it, I've parked it in that uneven sport before and never had a problem. These cars are so sensitive, but also self-healing at times which is a nice little bonus. Drove the car 50 miles to and from work today and after driving my 2003 Park Avenue for the past couple of days it was an eye opening experience. I guess that's no surprise, two cars of the same vintage and one cost half of the other when new. The Buick is nice, but the XJ is just an entirely differnent experience.

Thanks for everyone who replied, I'm sure I'll need your expertise again when I have an actual issue with the suspension.
