Front seat back removal
I have searched and didn't see anything on this or I missed it. I'm trying to remove the hard shell, on the backside of the front seats.
I'm trying to repair the map pockets in each of the seats. They are loose and some of the plastic pieces are broken and missing.
Any help or guidance will be appreciated.. Trying to have as little collateral damage as possible(if it even is).

Have a look at the seat back in this picture. There will be two curved hooks you can't see at the bottom. There are 2 plastic "christmas tree" fasteners like these at the top. https://www.jagbits.com/product/XR843848.html
Gently pry them loose with the proper tool, tilt the seat back rearward and pull up gently after disconnecting the light. The seat back will probably be fragile, so be careful where and how you pry.

in case anyone needs readily available replacements for XR843848, most retail auto part stores have this available which is a comparable match:

I replaced the OEM fasteners with these for the backs of my front seats on X350 after installing headrest monitors. worked like a charm and cheap. $5-6 for 2.

It's blind, but you can feel it. One pin at the top of each seat back, and you have to have a trim tool to pry them out. If you just try to pull the top of the seatback away, you will break either the top of the seatback, the molded brackets that hold those pins, or both. If you miss with the tool and pry the wrong area, you get the same breakage. The guy that reupholstered my driver's seat broke mine (tried to say it was already broken,) and even offered to install a new back for free if I could find one. I don't need him to install it if I can find one, but they don't exist out the real work, unless they're also broken.
