jluvzcarz,

Congratulations on your success! Your persistence paid off.

The steel hubs seize in the aluminum vertical links due to galvanic corrosion between the dissimilar metals. I'm sorry I didn't see your posts about your hubs being seized until just now, but for the benefit of future readers, something I've begun doing when I replace these hubs is to apply some aluminum-based anti-seize compound on the hub and the inside of the vertical link bore to help reduce the chance of the hub seizing again. So hopefully, the next time the job has to be done it will be as easy as you rightfully know it should be. But hopefully you'll never have to do it again on your Jag.

Cheers,

Don

I just used a good grade grease with the molly additive on mine, upon reassembly.

The Jaguar from the Carolina's, came apart with no issues.

Had to come out to replace the ball joints, could have reused them.

The newer one spent half its life in Ohio, what a difference, fought me every step of the way.

Default Pictorial guide as a Thank You!!!

Okay, again I want to thank all who contributed to my finally getting new hubs installed. Wow I did not realize how bad they actually were even before the right front gave out. The only drawback is now the front is so quiet I can hear all of the other little things that have issues In return I took some time and put together a PDF of the method that worked. I figured a PDF could be printed by anyone and go out to the car with them. If it helps I am happy to have provided as this was one bear of a job until I figured out this solution with help from everyone.

Thanks for the PDF. Isn't it funny how the factory manual says, remove bolts and remove bearing hub? Like it just falls off !!!

Mark in Maine it is funny now but I can tell you that Saturday night I wasn't laughing. I have a 30 year old pickup truck that I drive in Ct winters and parts come off that easier than these hubs came off. The silver kitty is smooth and quiet up front now. It's actually quite satisfying. I also figure I saved 700 plus dollars in labor costs despite the struggle. Thanks about the PDF. I hope it helps someone in the future.
