Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric and Tire Rack Categories
When I see the term "Max Performance Summer," I think of a dry, ideal conditions and fresh smooth asphalt in suburban Southern California. When I see "Ultra-High Performance All Season," I think of splashing through rain-filled potholes in New Orleans.
But according to Tire Rack that's not what the categories mean:
Max Performance Summer
You want an unsurpassed blend of dry and wet street traction and handling and only the finest will do.
Ultra High Performance All-Season
You want all-season versatility (including light snow traction) and are willing to trade some dry and wet traction and handling to get it.
Based on that, it sounds like Max Performance Summer is actually a better choice for a place like New Orleans with fairly frequent rain that doesn't run off well but no snow ever. Thoughts?
I have access to Goodyear employee discounts so I've been considering the Eagle F1 Asymmetric (which is available in either of those categories) for my X350 Vanden Plas. Anyone tried it?

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric was one of top rated tires by consumer report. Its best both for wet or dry conditions but not for snow and ice. CR considered it's a summer tires instead of all seasons tires. If you do not have ice or snow in LA then go for it.
