I wonder how many of us have had a nice compliment made about our cars.


I was filling up at the bowser the other day next to a very nice Silver Shadow. The owner finished filling up and went to pay. As he got to his Rolls we made eye contact and with a subtle *** he just said "Nice gear, mate."


I thanked him and told him his car wasn't bad either and then he drove away.


It felt good that people appreciate Jaguars even when they are driving something nice as as well.

I was in mousehole in Cornwall recently and if anyone has been there will know how narrow the roads are,pedestrians have to press themselves against the wall when a car comes along . I had my window down and as I passed I heard a gentleman say wow look at that jag I wish I had a camera with me . Love hearing things like that about oldish cars when there is so many nice cars on the roads

 

Well, maybe not today, but often when I have chatted with a fellow motorist, favourable comments have been made on my car. They are always surprised when I tell them the car is 13 years old and on 114k miles ! I think it has a lot to do with the colour, (Jaguar Racing Green), and the style of the car, which is the final iteration of the XJ6 style established in 1968 by Sir William Lyons, founder of the Jaguar company. The current XJ saloon is so totally different and elegant in its own way, but there are very few around where I live.
