Hang in there
My 2006 XJR was a nightmare. All kinds of issues. Threw money and time into getting it back into shape.
It is a second or third car. Driving is in binges, sits for a week and then gets 50 miles a day for a couple days.
BUT it has been trouble free for a while. Drives great, looks great.
Saw a later model black Portfolio a couple days ago. Would not have one, but it was detailed out. Shiny and the chrome popped. The driver floored it as he pulled out from a building. It has hauled ***.
My wife would kill me, but may look for a Super V8. I have some other cars that are better at most things. But a x350 is special for some reason.

Never thought that i would ever own such a car let alone two.
The base XJ8's are not nearly as fast as their super charged brethren.
Usually not ran as hard either, by the first owner or two.
Making them a better car for me, less to fix, still plenty fast.
With way more power than needed to get into trouble.
An old guys luxury hot rod for traveling, looking in the mirror, the old guy term seems to fit.

Once you've put your foot in it just once in an XJR/super V8 that supercharger whine just hooks you...
Agreed, all the more reason for me to avoid them, when i'm looking to buy used Jaguar
